K Visa Arrest Consequences

A K visa is generally issued to the fiancé of a US citizen and it allows the visa holder to enter the US. Then, the visa holder has 90 days to marry the US citizen. Occasionally, a K visa holder may be arrested while in the US and charged with a crime such as a misdemeanor or felony. Depending on the outcome of the criminal case and the nature and circumstances of the alleged crime, the visa holder may be blocked from adjusting his or her status following marriage or denial of the visa.
